THE CRUCIBLE depicts the Salem Witch Trials of 1692-93 in this allegorical account of McCarthyism. Demands of social compliance by the powers that be devastate characters determined to live by their own moral compass in this classic American drama.

Winner of the 1953 Tony Award for Best Play.
