Apr. 9-19
Titmus Theatre

By Oscar Wilde
Directed by Danica Jenelle Jackson

The Importance of Being Earnest, a Trivial Comedy for Serious People, is Oscar Wilde’s comedic play which satirizes the conventions and manners of the late Nineteenth century.

Best friends Jack and Algernon each adopt fictional identities to escape social obligations. Jack invents a brother named Ernest, while Algernon creates an invalid friend named Bunbury. The plot unfolds with mistaken identities, romantic entanglements, clever wordplay, and humorous social commentary.
