In Karma's House, Carmen manipulates Yasiin into helping her flee the city after a crime, spiraling him into a life of chaos despite his engagement to Denise. Betrayal, crime, and tragic consequences unfold as Carmen’s scheming backfires.

KAITLAN C. FARRIOR

Playwright

Kaitlan is a Senior student triple majoring in psychology, sociology, Africana Studies. This is her 6th time writing for QuickScripts. She is also an author of over 19 books and a poet. Kaitlan hopes you all enjoy the show!

SEAN STEWARD

Director

Sean is a local writer and director, hailing originally from New York City. Through his perspective gained by traveling the world in the Marines, he aims to tell universally true stories, with depth and emotion. He has written and directed such shorts as Shattered and A walk in the park.

EMILY CHIOLA

Carmen

Emily (she/her), is a Raleigh-based actress and writer. She is thrilled to be a part of QuickSCRIPTS and take on the challenge of performing with only 24-hours to prepare! She has recently been seen in Enemy of the People (Justice Theater Project), The Odd Couple (Forest Moon Theater), and Death by Design (Cary Players); as well as in several radio plays, short films, and staged readings. When not on stage, Emily enjoys traveling with her handsome husband, sipping cocktails and reading Vogue.

ANDREW JACKSON

Yasiin

Andrew is a senior in political science. He has participated in multiple shows at University Theatre including What We Grew Up With where he performed as Rajiv. He would like to thank his grandmother and friends who continue to encourage and support his passion for theatre. Andrew hopes you all enjoy the show!

OLGA RYZHIKOVA

Narrator

Olga is an actress of 12 years between the Boshoi Theatre of Belarus and NCSU University Theatre. They are happy to be back and performing again after 12 years of working in the corporate world.

ELENA WILLIS

Denise

Elena is a junior here at NC State in criminology with a minor in history. This is her third QuickSCRIPTS as a cast member. She has been in The Legacy of Allen Mitchell and The Death of Archimedes scenes this past year. She’s so excited to be back on the stage for the 2024-25 school year and to continue her experiences with University Theatre and the QuickSCRIPTS team.

TYLER NEGLEY

Police Chief

Tyler is a sophomore in exploratory studies. He has performed in one show at University Theatre as Lucas, and Student 1 in What We Grew Up With. He would like to thank his family who encourage him to continue pursuing his passion of theater and support him through everything. Tyler hopes you all enjoy the show!
