Accessibility Services

University Theatre is committed to providing an accessible and enjoyable experience for all.

University Theatre offers barrier-free access for patrons using wheelchairs, walkers, service animals or other devices in all of our spaces and parking areas; as well as, ticket counters, concessions and restrooms. A limited amount of accessible seating is available for patrons with mobility needs, companions and/or service animals.

To better assist our front of house staff and to help us prepare for your visit, please let us know of any accommodations or needs you may have by emailing us at universitytheatre@ncsu.edu. Please include your name, date of the performance you will be attending, how many are in your party and your request. This may include accessible seating, assistive listening devices, or the need of audio description services.

Parking

All University Theatre facilities offer accessible parking. For Thompson Hall, spaces are located to the left of the building in the parking lot between Thompson and the Honors Commons building. For Stewart Theatre, a limited number of spaces are available in the Jeter Drive parking lot and on Cates Avenue. Visit the NC State parking website for up-to-date parking locations.

Drop off locations are available adjacent to all venues. For Thompson Hall, patrons can be dropped off between the theater and the Honors Commons building. For Stewart Theatre, patrons may be dropped off at the Technology Tower on Dunn Avenue Talley Student Union next to Reynolds Coliseum.

Staff and volunteers are not permitted to accompany patrons outside of the theater.

Assistive Listing

Both the Titmus Theatre and the Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre are now equipped with the new ListenRF assistive listening system which offers guests the ability to receive a show’s audio via individual receivers — no matter where their seat is located. The enhanced audio signal is delivered via earbud or neck loop to individuals with telecoil-equipped hearing aids or cochlear implants.

Stewart Theatre is equipped with an RF assistive listening system which offers guests the ability to receive a show’s audio via individual receivers — no matter where their seat is located. The enhanced audio signal is delivered via earbud.
