MADALYN ALEXANDER

MOONBEAM, a fairy | Swing Performer

Madalyn is a sophomore in English education. She is making her NC State theatre debut in A Midsummer Night’s Dream! Some of her favorite roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Serena in Fame, and Betty in The Crucible. Madalyn is so excited to be a part of this cast and hopes you enjoy the show!

DARIUS ALSTON

STARVELING the Tailor | MOONSHINE

Darius is a senior in business administration. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is not only his first role in a UT production, but his first acting role as well. He has also worked as a volunteer for UT theater in the scene shop. Darius intends to graduate in December of 2022 and focus on building his own conglomerate brand.

JULIE BAKER

PHILOSTRATE, Master of Revels

Julie is a third year student with senior status in aerospace engineering. She is an aspiring NASA engineer who takes Shakespeare classes for fun. Hailing from Wake Forest, NC, she has participated in theatre since high school where she acted, directed, and stage managed, earning the Excellence in Student Directing Award at NCTC and the Renaissance Award at WFHS. Her work with UT began with Our Town her freshman year and will continue with other special projects. Julie can often be found reading too many books or panicking over her engineering course load.

JULIANA BALIK

DEWDROP, a fairy

Juliana is a senior in business administration with a minor in theatre. She is incredibly excited to be a part of her fourth University Theatre production. Juliana performed in Fefu and Her Friends fall of 2019, worked on 21 Chump Street in spring 2020, and performed in Devised 2020 last spring. She is thrilled to continue performing this semester. Juliana would like to thank her family and friends for their endless love and support.

DAIJA BLAISE

HERMIA, in love with Lysander

Daija is a sophomore in international studies with concentrations in Latin America and global relations. As a transfer student, this is both her first performance at UT as well as her first semester at NC State. Daija is very thankful to her friends and family who encouraged her to continue performing in college and is incredibly grateful for this opportunity to do so.

COBWEB, a fairy

Lola is a sophomore in philosophy of law. They are excited to appear in their first UT production. Before coming to NC State, they participated in theatre at their high school and is glad to be back on stage.

KATHERINE DANIELS

MOTH, a fairy | Swing Performer

Katherine is a senior in biology with a focus in wildlife management and animal science. Kat has done multiple shows with UT both onstage and off including Our Town, Ragtime, Argo, and The Colored Museum. She also volunteers in the costume shop and is a member of APO. She is graduating this fall and plans to pursue a doctorate degree and follow a career path of animal conservation research.

PORSIA DUTTA RAY

HIPPOLYTA, Queen of the Amazons

Porsia is a master’s candidate in management. I was born and brought up in India. I did my bachelors in Economics, but then shifted to Paris for my masters. My University in France has a partnership with NCSU. Hence, I am here. I am from SKEMA Business School. I had always wanted to pursue acting and join a theatre. However, I never really got the opportunity. Thus, here when I came across this, I really wanted to give it a shot, at least I tried to.

GRAYSON FULP

QUINCE the carpenter / PROLOGUE

Grayson is a junior in arts studies with a minor in arts entrepreneurship. This is his sixth show with University Theatre and he couldn’t be happier to be performing again! You may remember him as Harry Houdini in the musical Ragtime, or the voice of Pelias in the virtual performance Argo. Nothing makes him happier than performing, and he plans to do so for as long as he has the opportunity to, in whatever capacity he can. Grayson is incredibly grateful to University Theatre for persevering in the production of shows, and for his family’s unwavering support.

Will is a junior in psychology. He is excited to perform again after a long year and a half away!

JACKSON GRIFFIN

BOTTOM the weaver | PYRAMUS

Jackson is a sophomore in communication media. This is his first show with UT, and he’s been looking forward to getting back into in-person theatre. Jackson also is a musician and is involved in various music organizations on campus.

NIC HOLMES

MUSTARDSEED, a fairy

Nic is a junior in civil engineering with a minor in political science. They are in their fifth semester this year performing in their first show as a part of UT. Nic has some experience acting in productions outside of NC State and is excited to be a part of this program.

JUSTIN JONES

THESEUS, Duke of Athens

Justin is a senior in environmental technology and management with minors in theatre and renewable energy assessment. He is ecstatic to be joining University Theatre for his fifth show with the program. Though it’s been a stressful time throughout his college career, theatre has always been one of the places of stability he’s been able to lean on. Justin would like to thank his friends and family, who foster and encourage his love for theatre to no end.

COWSLIP, a fairy | Swing Performer

William is a second-year student majoring in business administration. He is excited to be a part of his second production with University Theatre. In his spare time, Will enjoys reading fiction and watching football.

HELENA, spurned by Demetrius

Gracelyn is a senior in business administration with a marketing concentration. She has performed in multiple shows at University Theatre including Men On Boats (Hall), A Good Little Rain (Young Michelle), Our Town (Professor Willard), and Argo (Chorus Leader). Gracelyn is also a member of Alpha Psi Omega and Omega Phi Alpha where she does service both in the theatre community and the community at large. She would like to thank her family and friends who continue to encourage and support her passion for theatre. Gracelyn hopes you all enjoy the show!

SHREYA KUMAR

PEASEBLOSSOM, a fairy

Shreya is a junior in political science. “I played the role of Ali in Static, a UT production during the Spring of 2021, for which I won Rookie of The Year, and Best Performer in a Fully Produced Show. I’ve also previously worked backstage for my high school theater productions.” Shreya is a member of the National Honor Society, and Pi Sigma Alpha. “I’m obsessed with horror movies and soccer.”

Ryan is a freshman in exploratory studies. Though this is his first UT show, he has performed in theatre in high school. Ryan loves to perform and hopes to become a full-time actor.

LYSANDER, in love with Hermia

Jackson is a sophomore in chemical engineering with a minor in mathematics. While he pursues STEM professionally, he has always been involved in the arts however he can. He enjoys playing and listening to music as well as performing on stage. His favorite roles include Jimmy Ray in Bright Star and Gad in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

SNUG the joiner | THE LION

Julia is a junior in art + design. She is thrilled to be in her second production at University Theatre! She was last seen as The Little Girl in Ragtime. Julia would like to thank her family and friends for all their support.

Swing Performer

Garielle is a freshman in the art studies with a concentration in film. This is her first UT show. In high school, she performed on stage in the one act play Fighting Demons. Gabby plans to persue a career path in film directing.

GRAY NICO

PUCK or Robin Goodfellow

Gray is a freshman in statistics. Gray is fresh on the NC State campus and excited to be on its stage! She’s had roles in six productions, including Cinderella and the Music Man. In her free time, Gray works on the novels that she has been planning since eighth grade, and she aims to publish them soon after graduation. Gray is overjoyed to use this opportunity to make everyone’s night a little brighter–and a lot more fun!

MARY OBIOL

POPPYSEED, a fairy

Mary is a sophomore in communication media. She is overjoyed to be a fairy in University Theatre’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and to be back in the theater after what seemed like a lifetime. Mary has participated in many community and high school theatre productions including In the Heights, The Wizard of Oz, David Ira Wood III’s A Christmas Carol and Little Shop of Horrors. Mary is also involved in NC State’s Ladies in Red, an all female a cappella group, and conducts undergraduate research in the communication department. Mary would like to thank her UT directors for giving her this amazing opportunity, former teachers Paige McGovern and Joan Pearce, and her family and friends who have given her incredible support throughout her theatre journey.

NEHA RAMKUMAR

TITANIA, Queen of the Fairies

Neha is a sophomore in microbiology – health sciences. She is very excited to be participating in her first show at University Theatre! And while Neha is passionate about the sciences, she loves to perform. Neha has been dancing since she was five, and throughout the years has dipped her toes into the world of theatre; always finding herself lured back by the enthralling act of bringing stories to life. Neha would like to thank the entire cast and crew for working so hard to bring this amazing show to life 🙂

FAYAZ SHAIKH

FLUTE the bellows mender | THISBY

Fayaz is a sophomore in computer engineering with a minor in theatre. He is excited to play Flute/Thisby in his second show at NC State. Previously, he’s performed in middle and high school theatre where his favorite shows include Peter and the Starcatcher (Grempkin/Bird), Annie Get Your Gun (Pawnee Bill), and Greater Tuna (Arles Struvie). In his free time, he makes games and films under his pseudonym Fayaz12 Gaming. Fataz would like to thank his past directors, as well as those at NC State for providing him with this opportunity.

LEONARDO TAPIA

EGEUS, Father of Hermia | Swing Performer

Leonardo is a junior in construction engineering with a minor in theatre. He is happy to be working with UT after years of preforming in middle school and high School. In his free time Leonardo can be seen skateboarding at Wolf Plaza, playing ultimate frisbee with NC State Six Pack, or producing music.

ZOE WRIGHT

Swing Performer

Zoe is a freshman in exploratory studies. She is thrilled to be a part of her first show at NC State during her first year of college. Zoe has previously appeared locally at Raleigh Little Theater in Seussical the Musical and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. She would like to thank her beloved family and her new theatre friends at NC State for always being awesome and supportive.

Raphael is a master’s student in finance. “I am a French exchange student at NC State with the Skema Business School.”
