Playbill | To Stephen King with Love (But Please Don’t Sue Me)
A Hollywood literary agent arrives at a writing conference in order to discover the next bestselling author -- someone like Stephen King -- whether they like it or not!

GEORGE JACK
Playwright
George is an associate professor at Saint Augustine’s University. His recent plays have been produced by NC State QuickSCRIPTS (Flower Children, and Barfly), The Women’s Theatre Festival (Futures Past), Goodly Frame Theatre (A Present for the Present), Cary Playwrights Forum/Creative Greensboro (A Different Drummer radio play), and The Dramatists Guild (Replay). George has a BA from William and Mary and an MFA from Louisville.

GUS ALLEN
Director
Gus, (he/his), is a local actor and writer, as well as an acting instructor at Back-to-One Acting Studio here in Raleigh. Gus has been in many NC State TheatreFEST productions, most notably The 39 Steps, The Hollow, and Tea with Edie & Fitz. Gus loves board games, skydiving, the Minnesota Vikings and Culver’s restaurants. His two cats are named Rebecca and Louisa after characters from Alfred Hitchcock films. Gus is a massive introvert, so you’ll have to initiate any conversation. Or not. That’s okay too.

BENJI TAYLOR JONES
The Agent
Benji is a veteran performer of the Triangle stage. This is her first time participating in QuickSCRIPTS but she thinks it’s a GRAND idea.

CLAIRE VESTAL
The Assistant
Claire is just plain excited to have a chance to play at NC State in this fabulous program! Recent credits include Cinderella 38 (Fairy Helper) and In the Heights (Ensemble) at Raleigh Little Theatre, Sylvia (Sylvia) and Baskerville (Actress 1) with Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina Cultural Centers. She’d like to thank her parents and sister, her fiancée and friends (including Athena and Lucy) for their love and support! Enjoy this unique excursion into the world of making theatre!

JONATHAN MAXWELL
The Author
Jonathan, (he/him) moved to Raleigh in 2018 and started acting the following year thanks to Gus Allen and Daryl Ray Carliles at Back-to-One Acting Studio. He owes them a lot for helping him be where he is today – which is here to perform for all of you! (Well, technically he is at home while this is being written) So if he does a poor job you know who to blame! When he isn’t acting he’s working… but, when he isn’t doing that he is making episodes for his show about science and space! (What the what show).
