Goldfish, Sardine, Girl Fish Trio, BFF Trio, Teen Fan, Pirate, Sea Anemone Tapper

Madalyn is a sophomore in psychology with a minor in business administration. She is thrilled to be involved in University Theatre’s production of SpongeBob while also getting the opportunity to work with such amazing people! This is her second show with UT, her first being A Midsummer Night’s Dream last semester. Madalyn has enjoyed both school and community theatre in the past and is excited to continue doing something that she loves.


Old Man Jenkins, Cowboy Trio

Darius is a senior in business administration – entrepreneurship with minors in French and theatre. He made both his acting and University Theatre debut in the Fall 2021 production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He has also worked as a volunteer in the UT scene shop. Darius plans to graduate in Fall 2022 and focus on building his own conglomerate brand. 


Bubble the Yellow Tang, Girl Fish Trio, Cowboy Trio, Sardine, Teen Fan, Pirate

Daija is a sophomore in international studies. A transfer student from ECU, this is her second production at University Theatre and she is excited to continue working with the program in the future. Daija is very thankful to her friends and family who encouraged her to continue performing in college and is incredibly grateful for this opportunity to do so.


Swing, Squidward & Plankton Understudy, Sea Anemone Tapper

Katie is a first-year student in political science. She is delighted to be making her debut with University Theatre. The Wilmington native has performed as an ensemble member in Thalian Association productions, including Alice in Wonderland. Formally trained in tap, ballet, jazz, and contemporary at Evolution Dance Complex, Katie has danced for over 15 years. She has performed tap solos at national dance competitions and conventions. In addition to majoring in political science, Katie hopes to pursue environmental law.


Sandy Cheeks

Kat is a first-year student in criminology. They are thrilled to join the cast of The SpongeBob Musical, their first show in UT at NC State! They have been doing theater for three years. Previous credits include Snoopy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Nellie in Jekyll & Hyde, Éponine in Les Misérables, and Lucy Grant in Bright Star. Kat wants to thank their friends and family for all of their support and hopes you enjoy the show!


Pearl Krabs, Sea Anemone Tapper

Kara is a first-year student in communications with a concentration in media. She is a 2021 graduate of Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte. As a first year Communications major, she is excited to be making her NC State theatre debut in The SpongeBob Musical! She last performed as Dance Captain, appearing as Lori in A Chorus Line, and her favorite roles include The Reporter in Anything Goes and Ladybug in James and the Giant Peach. Kara wants to thank her friends, family and the cast for such a FIN-tastic experience! Enjoy the show and have a Bikini Bottom Day! 


Karen the Computer, Sea Anemone Tapper

Zosia is a junior in psychology and Spanish. She is so excited to be making her debut with University Theatre as Karen! Her previous credits include Dead Man’s Cell Phone, 33 Variations, and Diary of Anne Frank. Zosia thanks her family and friends for their support and love, and everyone at University Theatre for connecting her with amazing opportunities and incredible people.

Chloe is a first-year student in environmental engineering. She is beyond excited to be making her debut with University Theatre.

Jake is a sophomore in English with a minor in theatre. He is ecstatic to be a part of his first production at University Theatre. Some recent credits include Godspell at Legacy Theatre and Music Company and The Drowsy Chaperone at Spotlight Performing Arts Academy. Jake hopes that he can “swing on stage and make a splash!”


Eugene H. Krabs

Will is a junior in psychology. He is a lifelong SpongeBob enthusiast who is excited to be a part of the musical and work again with University Theatre.


The Narrator, Mob Fish

Jackson is a sophomore in history with a minor in theatre. He is stoked to be a part of his second show with UT, his first being A Midsummer Night’s Dream last semester. Jackson hopes to teach high school US history after graduating.


SpongeBob SquarePants

Justin is a senior in environmental technology and management with minors in renewable energy assessment and theatre. He is ecstatic to be in his fifth show here at University Theatre! Justin is passionate about nature and the stage. He would like to thank everyone who supported him for making this experience possible. “Maybe the real Krabby Patty secret formula was the friends we made along the way.”

William is a sophomore in business administration with a minor in theatre. He is excited to be joining University Theatre for a third show. Will thanks his friends and family for their support.


Red Spotted Triggerfish, Sardine, Pirate

Ayan is a Masters student in computer science. I’m 26 years old. I have performed in plays during my undergrad and high school. This is my first experience performing in a musical.


Patchy the Pirate, Swing, Sea Anemone Puppet

Gracelyn is a senior in business administration with a marketing concentration. She is ecstatic to be joining University Theatre for her seventh show! Prior shows have included A Midsummer Night’s Dream, (Helena), Men On Boats (Hall), and A Good Little Rain (Young Michelle). Gracelyn would like to thank her family and friends who have continued to encourage and support her passion for theatre over the years. Enjoy the show!


Patrick Star

Devin is a junior in communication with a concentration in media and a minor in theatre. This is Devin’s fourth musical, and it is his second with University Theatre. In high school he performed in Oklahoma! as Will Parker, and in Aladdin as Aladdin. During his freshman year at NC State, Devin was a part of UT’s production of Ragtime as an ensemble member and as Willie Conklin. Devin says, “I want to give thanks to my family and friends for always giving me the support and encouragement that I need. It means the world to me. I love you guys!” 


Security Guard, Larry the Lobster, Cowboy Trio, Gary voice

Ryan is a first-year student UNDECIDED (exploratory studies). He has previous experience with theater at NC State, playing Snout the tinker in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream this past fall. Though he already has plenty of experience with musicals from high school, he is eager to learn more from the theater program at NC State.


Squidward Q. Tentacles

Jay is a senior in business administration and arts studies. They are super excited to be performing in their first show at NC State. They have been an active member of the UT community since their freshman year and is excited to step into an acting role. Previous involvement includes assistant director for Static and serving on the costume crew for both Ragtime and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Jay is also a recent inductee into Alpha Psi Omega, the honorary theatre society on campus!


Betta Fish, Electric Skate, Bartender, Pirate

Jackson is a junior in chemical engineering with a minor in mathematics. He is excited to return to University Theatre for this production. Jackson loves the diverse and heartwarming culture of theater, especially at NC State. His favorite roles include Jimmy Ray in Bright Star and Gad in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In his free time, Jackson can be found reading, playing or listening to music, or going on pointlessly long walks.

Ashley is a sophomore in social work. SpongeBob is Ashley’s first production at NC State, and she is so excited to be a part of the cast! Ashley was a part of theatre throughout high school, and now enjoys houseplants, rock climbing, and figure skating.


Sheldon J. Plankton

Maya is a first-year student in applied education studies – learning, design and technology. They are from Wilmington, NC but “I have lived abroad for 6 years.” This is their first show in UT at NC State. He has been in theater since 5th grade but this is their second show done in the U.S. His favorite roles are the Wicked Witch of the West in Wizard of Oz and Rosie in Mamma Mia!. Maya looks forward to continuing to do theater here and wants to thank their family and friends for all the support they’ve given him.


Mrs. Puff, Sardine

Mary is a sophomore in communication media with a minor in journalism. She is overjoyed to be Mrs. Puff in University Theatre’s production of The SpongeBob Musical. Mary has participated in many community and high school theatre productions including In the Heights, The Wizard of Oz, David Ira Wood III’s A Christmas Carol and Little Shop of Horrors to name a few. Mary is also involved in NC State’s Ladies in Red, an all-female a cappella group, and conducts undergraduate research in the Communication Department. Mary would like to thank her UT directors for giving her this amazing opportunity, former teachers Paige McGovern and Joan Pearce, and her family and friends who have given her incredible support throughout her theatre journey.


Ms. Mayor

Greta is a first-year student in industrial systems engineering and sociology. She is happy that SpongeBob will be her first musical. Previously Greta participated as Daisy in the “Special Project.” She has been interested in acting ever since she was a child. Greta is grateful to everyone who’s helped her come so far, and excited to bring her all into this role. 


Murray the Eel, Electric Skate

George is a sophomore in political science – law and justice. George is a transfer student to NC State and this is his first performance with UT. He is returning to the theater since his senior year of high school, and is excited to reignite his love and passion for the stage and the arts as a whole.


Perch Perkins, Plankton Back-up Dancer

Fayaz is a sophomore in computer engineering and a minor in theatre. He is excited to play Perch Perkins in his fourth show at NC State. Previously, Fayaz performed in middle and high school theatre, with his favorite shows including Peter and the Starcatcher (Grempkin/Bird), Annie Get Your Gun (Pawnee Bill), and Greater Tuna (Arles Struvie). In his free time, Fayaz makes games, films, and music under his pseudonym Fayaz12 Gaming.


Buster Blue Tang, Electric Skate

Leonardo is a junior in construction engineering. He is happy to be working with UT after years of performing in middle school and high school. In his free-time Leonardo can be seen skateboarding at Wolf Plaza, playing ultimate frisbee with NC State Six Pack, or producing music.

Zoe is a first-year student in exploratory studies. She is ecstatic to be a part of her second show at University Theatre, where she previously worked with the cast of A Midsummer Night’s Dream as a swing performer. Zoe would like to thank her beloved family and her fabulous theatre BFFs at NC State for always being there for her.
